Clean room, friendly staff, with EV charging facilities making our stay comfortable and convenient as we enjoyed a nice breakfast that was available until late.

great staff but noisy surroundings

The staff were incredibly friendly, always making sure our needs were met. The hotel and our double room were impeccably clean and maintained.

The noise from outside was a bit distracting and affected our sleep.

Had a great stay with friends! The rooms were clean, and the staff were super friendly. We visited the nearby castle and took a day trip to a local vineyard, both were amazing. Breakfast was available until late, plenty of time to enjoy it. I definitely recommend for anyone looking for a comfortable stay with good vibes.

Tranquil lakeside views and great food

I had a wonderful stay, enjoying the lakeside views from my room that made for a very peaceful atmosphere. The dinner in the hotel restaurant was hearty and delicious, definitely exceeding my expectations. Breakfast was also a highlight, with a variety of options freshly laid out, giving a great start to the day. My only drawback was the slow check-in process, which could use some improvement.

I loved the friendly staff! They made our stay so enjoyable, helping us feel at home. The only downside was the noisy corridors. it kept waking us up. 😕

Comfy stay with great food!

Spent a couple of nights here and it was really nice. The room was super comfy and clean. I had a lovely lake view. Can't forget about breakfast, there was so much to choose from! Just a heads up, it was a bit dim in the room at night. Staff were really friendly and helpful, which made the stay even better.

The location was nice as it was close to several attractions. The staff were very accommodating, which made the stay enjoyable. we did notice that there was nobody at reception for quite a while when we arrived, and our dinner options were quite limited, leading to a less than satisfactory dining experience. The room was decent but lacked some basic amenities like additional towels for two guests.

This place suits me perfectly with great amenities like free parking, 24-hour reception, and a bar area. Staff helped me with a late departure on my first stay, and I always enjoy the friendly service. I'm coming back for a city break!

Stayed at the Dragonfly in Colchester for one night. The location was spot on for our needs. Close to the main road, making traveling easy. The staff were really friendly, keen to help with any questions we had. The room had a comfortable setup, and the bathroom was clean with both a shower and bath, which was a treat. Breakfast had a good variety, and items were regularly replenished. On the downside, the self-service breakfast could use some attention. The coffee machine was out of order, and the toaster was slow, burning some of the toast. Found the quality of the food quite average considering the price. there was a lack of side plates and spoons at breakfast, which made things inconvenient. The bathroom door didn’t fit properly and couldn't close. The grounds were nicely maintained, but first impressions were affected by some litter at the entrance. A little more attention to these details would help. Despite these hitches, I would consider staying here again for the friendly vibe and good location.

Came here for a quick stay in Colchester, good value for the price. The towels were fluffy and nice after a shower. Make sure to check out the Barley and Graze restaurant for a decent meal.
